Where is the tiger? One afternoon a rabbit was sleeping under a tree. A loud sound woke him up. Thinking it was the roar of a tiger, he jumped up and ran. A cock saw the rabbit running. He asked, "What's the matter with you?" "Run for your life!" shouted the rabbit. "A tiger is coming!" A dog saw the rabbit and the cock running. He asked, "What's the matter with you?" Why are you running?" "Run for your life!" shouted the pig. "A tiger is coming!" The horse looked around. He could not see any tiger. "Where is the tiger?" he asked the pig. "Where is the tiger?" the pig asked the dog. "Where is the tiger?" the dog asked the cock. "Where is the tiger?" the cock asked the rabbit. The rabbit said, "I did not see any tiger. I only heard a loud sound. It was like the roar of a tiger. So I ran for my life." The horse said, "None of you saw the tiger, but all of you ran like frightened animals. Are you not ashamed of yourselves?" The rabbit, the cock, the dog and the pig were silent. They were too ashamed to say anything. Peter's Adventure Peter was an orphan. He lived with his aunt. He was very lonely and unhappy. One day, an old man gave him some green seeds. But he lost them because of his carelessness. The next morning, Peter found a huge peach near a tree on the hill. He found a cave, and then he went into it. He was so shocked to see so big insects. They are Mr. Centipede, Mrs. Silkworm, and Miss Spider. Soon they became friends. They decided to travel around the world. Then Mr. Centipede bit off the peach stem. That big peach went down the hill and ran into the sea. The peach floated and floated. One day, a group of sharks came and bit the big peach. Because Mrs. Silkworm and Miss Spider spat out silk to stick over 500 seagulls. the peach rose up. He stood at the door and called, "Mr. Rabbit, Mr. Rabbit." "What is it?" said Mr. Rabbit. "Have you heard about poor Mr. Fox? It is so sad!" "No," said Mr. Rabbit. "I have not heard anything about Mr. Fox." "He is dead," said Mr. Wolf. Mr. Wolf went away. Mr. Rabbit went to Mr. Fox's house to see what he could see. He looked in through the window, and there he saw Mr. Fox on the bed with his eyes shut, looking like a dead fox. Mr. Rabbit thought, "I must see if he is dead or not. For if he is not dead, he will catch me when I go near him." Mr. Rabbit went into Mr. Fox's house. He looked at Mr. Fox and said, "Mr. Wolf says that Mr. Fox is dead. But he does not look like a dead fox. You can always know if a fox is dead, for dead foxes always open their mouths." Mr. Fox heard this, and he thought, "I will show him that I am dead." So he opened his mouth. When Mr. Rabbit saw Mr. Fox open his mouth he knew that Mr. Fox was not dead. Mr. Rabbit jumped up and ran out of the house as quickly as he could. Do it by yourself Mr. Smith lives in a very tall building. He lives on the 14th floor. Every day he takes a lift up and down. One Sunday afternoon he drove his nine-year-old son to go shopping. They shopped all afternoon and bought many things. They drove back and carried all the things up to the lift. Suddenly they saw a piece of paper on the wall. It said, "Dear sirs, there is something wrong with the lift. Please use the stairs now." The son was very happy. He took a bag and run upstairs quickly. But Mr. Smith walked and walked. He goes to a supermarket and buys a lot of red radishes, white ones and green ones, and ties them to the leaves. His friends come. They light at the colorful garden. They pull up so many radishes from under the ground. "Oh, I understand. Radish is under the ground." Billy is surprised happy. He smiles. The monkey climbed quickly up the tree and picked the fruit for him. Then they crossed the river again and gave the owl some of the fruit they had picked. "Now," they said. "Which is better, to be strong or to be quick?" "Can anyone tell which is better?" said the owl. "Neither of you could get the fruit alone. It took both the elephant's strength and the monkey's quickness to get it." I like field mouse best ,but it may not suit tor you." The big mouth frog thought: "The fox is very smart, Maybe I can ask him!" " rabbit 'rabbit' Brother fox. Would you please tell me which kind of food is the most delicious one?" The fox looked at the frog and laughed shyly:" Ha, haha!" "Brother frog, you'd better ask crocodile." The frog turned up crocodile, the fox looked at the back of the frog and smirked. At last the frog found the crocodile in a wide river," Master crocodile, would you please tell me which kind of food is the most delicious one?" The crocodile looked at the frog and was very happy, "Of course frog is the most delicious food in the world!" With this word he rushed at the poor frog! The frog was frightened and run away as fast as he could. Finally he escaped from the crocodile and run back to his pond. He sat in the pond and thought: "Alas, I'm really silly, the most delicious food are mosquitoes and insects!" Catching a Thief Witty Hare can run very fast. One day when he gets home, he sees a rat. The rat is jumping down from his window. "Oh. Thief" Witty Hare shouts and catches the rat, "You can't run faster than me." Soon Witty Hare catches up with the rat, and the rat is left behind. "I must run away," the rat says and laughs, "He's so silly." Witty Hare goes on running. A sheep sees him and asks him, "What are you doing?" "I'm catching a thief," Witty Hare says. "Thief? Where's the thief?" the sheep feels surprised. "He's behind me," Witty Hare says proudly. |
